Why “A Canadian in King Parakramabahu’s Court”

There were nine King Parakramabahus, but we’re talking about the sixth, the one who was the King of Kotte He lived from 1415-1467 AD and was the last Sinhalese king who managed to re-establish rule over the island. His power base was in Kotte. After his death, the island again plunged into a divisive struggle.

The Kingdom of Kotte encompasses the area in which we live.
