In Sri Lanka, there are many elephants. There’s the elephant orphanage, there are elephants at the zoo, elephants are used in parades (and likely festivals, too), and elephants are even used in construction. Yep, some elephants are working elephants, hauling logs and the like.

“Mommy! That elephant is so big in that truck! He is too big! That’s so silly!”
“I can see him BOTTOM! HAHAHAHAHA!” (That was Bridget, obviously.)
“Mommy, how come elephants don’t wear seatbelts?”

And I agree – transporting an elephant in the back of a truck DOES seem silly. Until you realize that there’s no really good way of transporting an elephant long distances quickly.
