For posting Canadian humour or things relating to Sri Lanka and the rest of Asia’s distaster . . . It’s tiring. It’s exhausting. It takes a toll.
No, I didn’t lose anyone. Yes, Fahim and I are completely safe. Yes, we’re incredibly blessed. We are fortunate. Everyone I know is okay. But it’s tiring. Being immersed in nothing but death, destruction, and more death and destruction.
So while I post things not related to the earthquake, tsunami, death, and destruction, please understand that I do this for my own sanity.
I cry during the news. I cry reading stuff on the internet. I cry at church talking about it. It bothers me. And I need to get some space from it. Just a little bit.
Fahim’s been great. He gives me loads of hugs and generally understands me while I act a little bit crazy.
